Mindful Weaving 8 week workshop

Mindful Circular Weaving: NEW COURSE COMING SOON

We weave to make meaning, to witness our stories unfold.

There is something so simple yet so powerful about the weaving process. In weave, we use basic stitches with the warp and the weft to bring together all of those aspects of ourselves, to share and tell our stories, and make sense and meaning of those things that happen to us.

We come together in community as people have done for thousands of years. We support, we hold space, we allow the designs to emerge. We unravel the wools and threads, we reorder them and through colour and softness we rebuild our lives.

Join me every Monday morning for this creative self-care journey, the perfect way to start your week. Each week we will work with the theme of ‘New Beginnings’ as we make ourselves again for this New Year.

My Mindful weaving course blends together the tactile beauty of the weaving process with the intuition and power of the making. ding our stories and lives. When we come together in community, we witness each other, bringing together our shared (her)stories.

Come together in community to be mindful, slow down, connect to self and be with others as you learn new creative skills for self-care. This is such a gentle way to begin or deepen your self-care practice. Paying attention, touching the soft materials and finding that inner stillness. The small group also supports and encourages you to tune into your creative flow.

No experience necessary. I simply guide you through meditation techniques and simple weaving stitches in a circular movement.

You’ll come away with your very own circular weaving wall hanging.

All textile materials provided.

My Mindful weaving course blends together the tactile beauty of the weaving process with the intuition and power of the making. We bring together warp and weft, integrating the various aspects of ourselves and rebuilding our stories and lives. When we come together in community, we witness each other, bringing together our shared (her)stories.

Mindful Weaving is perfect for those with no artistic background yet are curious about how creativity can help us feel more ease and flow in their daily lives. It allows us to tune into the energy within our own bodies or the transits that play out in our lives.

Mindful weaving combines some of the basic principles of meditation – focusing on the breath, noticing the sensations in the body, turning the attention inwards – with simple repetitive moving wool back and forward through the warp of a weaving frame (you’ll learn all about this).  We weave the pieces of ourselves together, finishing our pieces to represent the whole of who we are now.

Weaving also tunes us into that creative being we all have inside. Here, we can open our imagination to all sorts of possibilities, helping us to unstick ourselves from limited thinking. In my own experience, it has been such an effective tool in managing stress and overwhelm on a regular basis and I love sharing this with you.
